Nice day, finally!

Elise has been itching to get outside and it is finally getting warmer. So we went outside and did some bubbles.

For some reason she was always facing the other direction.

Even though this picture did not produce any bubbles, she is getting a lot better. It was pretty windy, in her defense.

Some of the pictures are darker and lighter. This is for two reasons. 1-the sun was coming and going behind clouds. 2-I am still working on getting to understanding the setting on my camera. Although I do love my new camera!

And we have bubbles!

One of her favorite things to do out back is to find rocks that will fit down the center hole of our patio table.
I'm not really sure why, but it seems to provide endless entertainment. Will it fit??

 "Nope, not that one."
The new camera has a lovely black and white setting. So this is my small attempt at being a little artistic with the picture taking.
      'CHEESE'

Swinging is a favorite past time as well. I was still a little chilly, but those who know me would not be surprised by this. Elise had a great time, and I can't wait for it to get a little warmer so we can all enjoy being outside.

Easter- Part 2

Family photos! (note: Maggie isn't in a lot of these because she fell asleep on the way home from church.)

 The girls!

Missing the little one, but not a bad picture.

Mommy testing the camera, but great pics of Daddy and Maggie!

Finally got Elise to look at the camera! But she apparently forgot how to just smile normally, ha.

Gotta love the squishy baby face!

My lovely parents!

Note to self- I have got to get better at using the camera. It was very hard because it was a cloudy day, plus I just haven't had enough practice.

Happy Easter! part 1

We went to my parents this year for Easter. So what did we do Saturday?! Dye Easter eggs!!
Elise was so excited. I am pretty sure she would have died a hundred if we let her.

She did a great job, and she was so proud of her work.

 'waiting' patiently...haha
Maggie got to join in on the fun too, at least for a few minutes.

Our finished Easter eggs! There is of course an orange egg with an 'E' on it.
I was putting Maggie down for a nap, but apparently Elise wasn't too happy about finishing the eggs. She made this face and Bob happened to get the shot. I was also told that she had her arms crossed in a huff. Luckily it wasn't a complete meltdown, and she recovered quickly. But the picture is just great!!

Happy 5 months! (St. Patrick's Day)

Well, we've made it to 5 months. Margaret is changing everyday and becoming more and more social. She likes to blow raspberries and smiles more. I haven't gotten a good belly laugh yet, but I have gotten her to giggle a little. She has a couple of toys that really keep her attention and it is fun to watch her manipulate them. No sitting yet, but I haven't really worked on it either. I would like to get a little better handle on the spit up and hopefully that will get a even better over the next couple months.

I love to watch the interaction between Elise and Margaret. Elise can always make her crack a smile. She is a great big sister. It will be a wonderful thing when they can play together. I know Elise is ready for that, although I don't think she really knows what she will be getting into.

Maggie has some good days and bad, as with babies in general. She has had a few nights where she is awake for a couple of hours. Definitely hard on me, and I wish she could tell me what's wrong, but I know that is a long time in the making. Her naps have gotten a little better, but they are still pretty short. I think that trade off is the fact that she sleeps pretty well at night so she doesn't sleep as much/as long during the day. I am working on getting her into a schedule/routine and that has helped, but always a work in progress. We are also offering some solids/ rice cereal. She still has a strong tongue reflex where she pushes it back out, but right now it is just for practice and we are not giving it to her on a consistent basis, just for fun.

Don't you just love the shamrocks! The worst part is I really wanted to take a picture of her on the floor because there was a big shamrock on her butt, haha! However, about 5 minutes after I took these I discovered a blowout.
The thumb sucking happens more and more, but she still just does it when she is really upset and a few times she has fallen asleep. I think it helps her sleep longer during the night.

These pictures were taken over the last couple of days, but they turned out pretty cute.

We finally got around to 'celebrating' Christmas with Aunt Kathy. Elise had asked for a vacuum a while ago, and she found this cute little one (yes, it is just like a dyson). It even has batteries and swirls around some confetti. It is supposed to have a little suction and a compartment that you empty, but either our batteries aren't strong enough or it doesn't really work. It doesn't matter, she has fun with it and if it gets her to help or feel like she is helping, that is fine by me.

Elise found a touch and feel book that she used to love to read. Now she likes 'reading' it to Maggie. It doesn't always happen because nights can be a little crazy depending on Maggie's mood, but it is fun to sit and read with the girls together. I hope it becomes a regular thing.
Bright face!

Maggie - 4 months

Well, here we are, 4 months!
Stats: 12lb 14oz
24.5in
She was starting to roll over when I took the picture.

Not the first time she has had her thumb in her mouth! I think I have a thumb sucker. I know I will regret saying this, but "Isn't she too cute?" Sometimes I wish she would find it sooner since she doesn't care for a paci.

~ Sweet smiles ~
She has also taken to putting things in her mouth...toys, burp rags, her hands, my hands, etc. You get the idea, everything has the potential to go in the mouth. She does seem to enjoy playing with 'Tags' (our name for her puppy). She tends to lick his face and grab his ears.

3 months!

Where has the time gone?! Maggie is already three months, and changing every day.

chillin' (more like fell over, ha)

A little bit of tummy time. Look at me hold my head. Actually just the other day when we had some tummy time she got herself to roll over from her belly to her back. It isn't consistent yet, but I have seen it more than once.

Just look at those cheeks!

Margaret- 2 months

Well, Margaret is now 2 months old. Things are starting to get a little easier, and she is a little more entertaining. She has started to smile, but I would say right now it is more of a smirk. I haven't been able to get a picture, but hopefully soon. Maybe we'll get a big smile for Christmas.

This picture is from 12-12-12, at 8 weeks.

Pretty in purple. Taken last night on her true 2 month birthday.
