First Swim

Family photo before jumping in!

Don't you just love the hat?!

Elise wanted to make sure all the bugs were out before she got in.
Yep, Maggie was mad when I passed her off to set up the camera. for Grandma to take pictures.
Elise had a great time. She made sure ALL of the toys were in the pool, even though she didn't play with half of them.
Again, Maggie not happy about being in the pool. I think a good portion of this 'grumpiness' was because it was getting late and she was tired. She still did pretty well, but we did not force the issue the rest of the weekend.
We were able to get a little wet.
Elise figured out that she could touch, and really didn't need the inner tube, and eventually she didn't care to have the water wings on. I think they just got in her way.

Once we set on the steps Maggie was much happier, and even splashed a little.
We were able to swim Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday morning. It was great! Maggie didn't swim anymore because she was taking naps. And it was much easier to swim and help get Elise cleaned up without having to clean her up and worry about her. Maybe the next time she'll get a chance to get in, and she won't be so upset about it.

Elise's 4th Birthday (#1)

Well, this year Elise got 2 birthday celebrations. Since her birthday fell on a weekend, it overlapped with one of Bobby's cousin's high school graduation. So we didn't actually spend her birthday at home. This is fine by me, I love that she got to celebrate it with family. That is the best way to spend your birthday.

She got a very special breakfast while we were in Terre Haute.
Square Donuts!!

Seriously one of my favorites! She should be paid for advertising.

She has a new fascination with collecting and looking at rocks. So they decided to check out the rocks near the railroad tracks by Square Donuts.

Birthday Part 2

She loves talking to Aunt Sis!!

This is the adorable cake that Grandma got Elise while we were at their house.

 Can you feel the excitement?!

She was so proud of herself.

Taking the pieces off and licking the icing off.

My big 4 year old!! (40lbs 42in)
I can't believe that you are 4. You are an amazing little girl, and you have blessed our lives exponentially. You are funny, smart, and energetic. Everyone always compliments me on what a good girl you are and that you 'are a hoot.' I hope that being a 4 year old is all that you want it to be and more. I love watching you grow and learn. May you stay this young forever. Lots of love, Mommy

8 months

Wow, I am lazy. Writing once a month, and there has been so much going on. I'll put that is my excuse reason for not posting more. I really hope to catch up someday, but no promises.

Here are some pics from today of Maggie, who is now incredibly 8 months old. She now has 2 teeth, bottom middle ones. She is sitting up very well, and don't really need the pillow, but it makes me feel better. She isn't crawling yet, but it isn't too far away, as you will see in (at least) one of the pictures. Plus, I have seen her in her crib when she is mad and she is almost strong enough to put herself into a seated position from her belly.

She does like to stick her tongue out!

 Baby kisses!
Seriously content to chew on just about anything, and boy does she get mad if you take it away before she is done.

I'm pretty sure we have a similar picture of Elise doing the same 'stretch.'
 Sweet smiles.
She LOVES to chew on this book!

Hopefully both girls will always love books. And Maggie will outgrow wanting to chew on them.

Notice her position in the first picture, and then at the end. She can completely spin around. Also there is the one where if she was up on her hand she would practically be sitting.

 And...I'm done Mom!

 Wrinkle nose :)
Now, I don't normally take pictures of the kids in the tub, but she is pretty happy and I wanted to get a few more smile pictures. (sorry about the yellow pictures, I forgot to change the setting.)

She has figured out how to splash, which is really cute. And sometimes she is so focused it seems she is studying it.

 More tongue!
Looking at Dad making silly noises, ha.
