Friday Jan. 28

Time for baby to take a nap.

Thursday Jan. 27

She decided to do this all on her own. It is just a wrapping paper roll.
She was so proud of herself for coming up with such great fun.

I really have no idea where she would have picked this up, but I'm all for cheap entertainment.

Wednesday Jan. 26

Reading her favorite book!

Play-Doh

So today we got out some Play-doh. She doesn't do a lot with it, but I like to think she has a little fun. Usually she just squeezes it or puts it back in its container. We've got some cookie cutters and a small rolling pin so I have been showing her how to use those.

She is always so deliberate in her actions, you can just see the wheels turning.

Monday Jan. 24

Now there is one more reason Elise likes to go down in the basement. She likes to get in Bob's old papasan chair and roll around. She pretends to sleep and stretch. It is really pretty funny. She also usually brings at least one friend with her and another toy. I know she likes doing this, but I am not a big fan because it tips over pretty easily. So lucky me gets to stand there and stabilize it while she rolls around in it. Oh well, the things we do for our kids, right?

Riding on Dad

Daddy started something...He picked her up to touch the ceiling, and of course she wanted to do it over and over. But since that was hard for him to do, he just put her on his shoulders. She thought that was pretty cool and he jogged around the room.

Drumming in Dad's head.

There is a good possibility that Bob lost a few hairs in the process, but she had a good time!

Saturday Jan. 22

Today was a pretty boring day. Daddy had to work, so we just stayed in. I decided not to bug her too much by taking a ton of pictures.
This picture was taken after church. Elise and Daddy just chillin' on the couch.

Friday Jan. 21

Elise got a Clifford Puppy Days Dvd for Christmas. And now she is obsessed. That is pretty much the only thing she wants to watch. We have about 20 episodes of Blue's Clues on the DVR, but NO. She wants to watch the same 8, 10 minute Clifford shows.

She always brings me the Dvd case and says 'watch Clifford.'

More swing!

Elise loves to swing! Over the summer/fall I had a love/hate relationship with going to the park. I really liked being outside, and having her run around and play. However, she would really like to swing and I usually had to push her for at least half the time we were there. I know I should enjoy the down time, but sometimes it gets a little boring just pushing her.
Oh well, this is our indoor way to swing. Sometimes she gets really upset if you start and will only do it a couple of times. I don't really mind doing it, but it REALLY wears you out. Before too long I won't be able to do it at all. 1-she'll be too tall and 2-she'll be to heavy for me to lift her without hurting her or me.

Wednesday Jan. 19

Today we had MOPS, well Elise went to MOPPETS. It was actually an 'off' week for the moms. So I got to drop Elise off at her room, say good-bye, and go run some errands. It was very nice for me. I actually felt like I got a lot done. And the best part, I know that Elise has a really good time with her friends.

She isn't asleep, but she was pretty worn out. She was watching a little tv while I was fixing lunch. Usually she is playing or sitting in her chair. Guess she just needed a little break.

Elise Dances

I apologize for this being so dark and sideways, Bob took it on his cell phone. I didn't know how to fix it. It is really just too funny when she dances. She loves music so much. Which makes mommy pretty happy!

Monday Jan. 17

More cooking in the kitchen. Nothing too exciting happened yesterday. Mommy had some errands to run, so we didn't have a lot of play time at home. I don't remember what she was making, but she brought me half the things we have in her kitchen. Ha!

Drummin' to the beat

Elise has developed a renewed interest in her drum. She thinks it's really funny that Dad drums so fast.

She was dancing and grooving. (I didn't realize that she stole a spoon out of the drawer.)

Saturday Jan. 15

SUPERGIRL!
We were just having some fun on the floor and got the best giggles and smiles.

I think she really liked flying.

Friday Jan. 14

Seriously!! Do you notice a book theme? I promise we have other toys and activities in the house.
CHEESE! That is exactly what she said when I took this picture. Sometimes I get the feeling that she might be tired of me taking her picture all the time. Ha! Gotta love those cheeks.

Funny

TICKLE FIGHT!! These are so awesome. And for right now, she actually requests them. 'More tickle', 'more tickle". Her giggle is completely contagious.
 'cheese'

Practicing walking up the stairs. She's actually getting much better, but still no where near being able to do it by herself

Backpack

Again, Elise love to read so I thought I would share a video of her reading one of her new favorite books.

Well, that is what I was hoping to do last night, but I couldn't get it to load. I'll try again some other time, or try something different.

This is an action shot, if you can't tell. Haha! She is showing off her backpack.

I hope that she doesn't wear out her excitement for wearing a backpack. If she does now, we are going to have a long 12 years of school.

Snow Day

And amazingly enough there are no pictures of Elise in the snow. We did go outside for a little while, but I forgot the camera inside. I never know how long she is going to last outside, so we just spent some time outside, instead of me trying to take pictures. I shoveled most of the driveway while she wandered around. It was kind of funny, she really only walked where I had shoveled. Oh well, so much for playing in the snow. At least we got outside.

Since it snowed most of the day, it was really a good day to stay inside and read books. These are two different books from two different locations. She always knows where to find the books no matter where we are. She has also figured out how to 'read' her books. Especially the ones she has memorized. It is truly amazing the things that she retains.

I wasn't sure how these pictures would turn out, but I think there could be more to come. Last Christmas Elise got a tent and tunnel since she was crawling. I got it out a few times, but she just crawled around it. So today we were a little bored in the basement, I decided to get it out. Low and behold she knew exactly what to do and crawled right through it, no problem. I have a feeling that this is something she is going to want me to get out more than just this one time. Okay by me, it keeps her quite entertained, especially when she brings toys in it.

Playing around

Yep, we still have our tree up. Most of the decorations are off, we just haven't had a chance to take the tree down. I don't know if I have mentioned on here that Elise likes cars, but she does. A LOT! This was a Christmas gift, and she plays with it often. When she opened it on Christmas, that was the only toy she wanted to play with. And I couldn't get her to open any more packages after this one was opened.

This is just kind of a strange picture. She was playing with her friends, puppy and lion. Apparently she thought it was time for them to go "night, night." She's not actually sleeping, she was just rolling around on the floor. She must have blinked or closed her eyes like she was sleeping..

Sunday Jan. 9

Today we went to visit Grammie, Dad'n, and Aunt Kristina (my parents and sister). It is so cute now when Elise says hi to people she knows. She actually puts there name on the end, "hi Grammie" "hi Dad'n." She always has a great time with my family. Amazingly enough it gives me a break. She would rather play with them, and drag them around showing them new things than me. Bob, my dad, and I also got a chance to go to Fry's Electronic while she took her nap. Well, she didn't actually take a nap, but from what my mom said she just talked and sang in her pack-n-play.

The other thing she likes about my parent's house is that there are new/other toys to play with. My mom actually kept some of our toys from when we were little, and that is what Elise is playing with in the picture. I am assuming the 'original' Little People, lol.

Here she is coloring/drawing with Aunt Kristina.

Even though she was a little tired from not taking a nap. We had a really fun day.
